Tiger Tale – February 2nd

Only 18 more days until FIRST Robotics
Competition “Stop Build” day!

BIG NEWS! We have a new sponsor: Jacobs Engineering! Their generous donation helped make it possible for us to proceed with plans to participate in the Rock City FRC Regional competition in Little Rock, Arkansas! A huge thank you to Randy Lycans, manager with whom our incredible Mentor, engineer Kate Caldwell works. About 15 student Team members and several Mentors are planning to participate (March 8-11). This is Grissom Robotics’ first time to be able to participate in two Regionals- a tremendous skill-building experience for our students. Our other Regional is in Huntsville, March 22-25-FREE & open to the public at the VBCC.

THIS WEEK’S ROBOT PROGRESS: After rounds of CAD and prototyping, we have been finalizing our designs and building them from aluminum!
We finalized and build our official shooter and collector. With our microcontroller, electronics and “Omni-wheels” mounted on the actual chassis, our drivers have been practicing their driving skills.

Our team is still in need of funding, if you would like to help us out please visit Our Go Fund Me!
